Friends since childhood, the devoted couple dream of a future together, but their plans are derailed when Fonny is arrested for a crime he did not commit.

“Much like his previous films as a director, Jenkins’ Beale Street adaptation is a richly layered and beautifully atmospheric work of cinematic poetry.” – Sandy Schaefer

One of the most anticipated films of the year, Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music, and lead singer Freddie Mercury, all in the beautiful gardens of The Gonville Hotel. This is not to be missed.

Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

“Frankly, if you are not cheering along with the crowd as Mercury belts out an ultra-satisfying rendition of “We are the Champions,” then a doctor should check your pulse.”
Mara Reinstein – Us Weekly

This ten-time Oscar-nominated film with Olivia Coleman, Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone is one of the biggest hits of the year.

When a new servant, Abigail, arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing, and Abigail sees a chance to return to her aristocratic roots.

“The Favourite is a wildly entertaining, bracingly cynical comedy of royal manners directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. It’s a farce with teeth” – The NY Times.

MEAN GIRLS (12) @ Gonville Hotel

This fetch film (stop trying to make fetch happen), is not one to be missed this summer!

This 2004 cult classic Mean Girls, is a 2004 comedy written by Tina Fey, where Cady is initially a hit at her new school with the plastics until she makes the mistake of falling in love with the ex-boyfriend of alpha Plastic, Regina George.

Teenager Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) was educated in Africa by her scientist parents. When her family moves to the suburbs of Illinois, Cady finally gets to experience public school and gets a quick primer on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide her fellow students into tightly knit cliques. She unwittingly finds herself in the good graces of an elite group of cool students dubbed “the Plastics,” but Cady soon realizes how her shallow group of new friends earned this nickname.

“Mean Girls has the same fancifully dead-on tone as the 1995 high-school comedy “Clueless” without the sweetness because, hey, these snits are mean.” – USA Today

We will be joined by the incredible Arepa’s Station, sharing the Latin flavours of Venezuela street food with delicious gluten-free Arepas.

WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (15) Music & Movies: The Connection @ Gonville Hotel

The next date in our ‘Music & Movies: The Connection’ festival, Enchanted Cinema in collaboration with repmusic presents When Harry Met Sally.

This ’80s Rom-Com classic stars cinema legends Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. Can men and women ever just be friends? Come and join us for one of the most iconic films of all time in the beautiful Gonville Hotel.

In 1977, college graduates Harry Burns (Billy Crystal), and Sally Albright (Meg Ryan), share a contentious car ride from Chicago to New York, during which they argue about whether men and women can ever truly be strictly platonic friends. Ten years later, Harry and Sally meet again at a bookstore, and in the company of their respective best friends, Jess (Bruno Kirby) and Marie (Carrie Fisher), attempt to stay friends without sex becoming an issue between them.

“When Harry Met Sally is a beautiful, brainy, touching and lilting romantic comedy that should touch the heartstrings of lovers and those yearning to be in love everywhere.” – Hollywood Reporter.

Pulp Fiction has a star-studded cast Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta and Uma Thurman starring in the ultimate Tarantino cult classic.

In this ultra-hip, multi-strand crime movie, their storyline is interwoven with those of their boss, gangster Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) his actress wife, Mia (Uma Thurman) struggling boxer Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) master fixer Winston Wolfe (Harvey Keitel) and a nervous pair of armed robbers, “Pumpkin” (Tim Roth) and “Honey Bunny” (Amanda Plummer).
